Call for Official Statements: Submit your request now

We are currently accepting request for an official statement to be delivered by the ministers/ Head of delegations.

  • Tuesday 11 February, 9h30-11h00 (Al Yasmeen Ballroom, Waldorf Astoria Hotel)

Delegations are invited to register by sending your request to [email protected] and [email protected] and copying Mr. Fadi Jannan at [email protected] at the earliest possible. Please indicate Name of the Country/Organization in the subject line.

The list of speakers follows the usual UN protocol. The time limit for statements will be five minutes.

Guidance on the format for Official Statements

Official Statements should be of 700 words maximum. The statements are expected to address the following considerations:

  • Progress and achievements since the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030
  • Progress and achievements in the prioritized action plan 2021-2024 for DRR
  • Progress and achievements in the Rabat declaration for DRR
  • Challenges in implementation and specific recommendations
  • Commitments in fast tracking the implementation of Sendai framework by 2030

Who can make a statement?
Member States and Intergovernmental Organizations can submit their interest in making an official statement.

How can I make a statement?
Official statements will be delivered from the delegation seat.

Statements are public
All statements, whether oral or written, will be available to the public on this website.

Call for Applications: Side Events and Marketplace Exhibits

Side events and marketplace exhibits are key elements of the platform, providing valuable opportunities to share insights, showcase innovative solutions, and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders. Organizations interested in hosting a side event or exhibiting in the marketplace are invited to apply by 7 January 2025.

Application Process
To apply, please complete the relevant application form for a Side Event or Marketplace Exhibit and email it to [email protected] and [email protected]. Use the subject line: SIXTH RP SIDE EVENT AND MARKETPLACE APPLICATION.

We strongly encourage early submissions to facilitate a smooth review and selection process. Applications will be assessed based on their alignment with the platform’s objectives and themes. Please note that while participation is encouraged, UNDRR will not provide financial sponsorship for these activities.
